Are you ready to throw yourself into the world with everything you’ve got?

That’s the question that inspired me to write Do Big Small Things, my second book. After all, the world is a vast, ever-changing, awe-inspiring place — but very few of us ever venture out to truly experience it.

As the founder of a travel company, I’ve seen first hand how society creates tourists, spectators who prefer an arms-length, armchair view of the world. But the truth is, we were born to be explorers. It’s in our DNA. Getting to know how other people live, understanding cultures that are so different than our own, is the fastest path to peace.

Every saint, sinner, hero, and villain is warmed by the same sun. Each of us fights for meaning beneath the same moon. All of us must leave our own borders to find freedom, to climb our own mountains of growth, to cross our own bridges for connection. We all have to discover our part in something bigger.

Let the feeling take you. Leave comfort and hit the road!
Let the feeling take you. Leave comfort and hit the road!

Travel can be that vehicle, but you don’t have to go far from home to experience this big, bad, beautiful, perfect planet. From where you are standing right now, you have the choice to go backward, stand still or move forward. There is no wrong answer, but there is significance in everything you do. The winding path, the tiny choices, the big mistakes, the unexpected encounters you experience will shape your ability to become a better version of yourself.

So Do Big Small Things is less a book than a map — a diversion — a path to meaningful connections.

Take this book with you. Rough it up and record everything!

Page by page, you’ll be challenged to write, rip, make, and, hopefully, get of your comfort zone. I wrote this book to serve as an album of shared surprises, hidden treasures, meaningful connections, and lasting changes. Wherever you are — in your living room or in Nepal — I hope it will serve as a record of all the big small things you do!

So, get on your way! The journey will change you.
