Western Canada is an enormous tract of land which encompasses almost everything west of the province of Ontario. It includes the prairies of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta, the Rocky Mountains and the Pacific Coast of British Columbia. It has a very different cultural vibe from what you get in other parts of Canada. It is also very different from what you will find in the Western United States with its deserts.

Western Canada is a land onto itself. In the summer of 2014 I'm planning a multi-month road trip through Western Canada to explore its many national parks.

A lake in Banff, Alberta
Kluane National Park, Yukon
Hammock on a floating lodge outside Gwaii Hanas National Park, BC
Fairmont Hotel in Victoria, BC
Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump World Heritage Site, Alberta

Getting there
