GLOBAL UPDATE - Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Posted: 16 Feb, 2020 | Updated: 20 Apr, 2022

Information regarding all tours currently impacted by tour suspensions.

We are thrilled to have been running some tours for over a year! As we continue to see more destinations open up to travellers, we have been able to run select tours in these destinations. However, we have had to make the difficult decision to suspend some of our G Adventures and National Geographic Journeys with G Adventures tours through to the end of June 2022 based on the current situations in those specific destinations, along with some operational challenges.

Given the ongoing global uncertainty and continued policy changes, we believe that proactively suspending these tours now is the right thing to do. The safety and security of our travellers, along with that of our staff and partners, continues to be our top priority, and this is a precautionary measure to continue to protect our travel community at this time. We will continue to reevaluate all of our tours going forward, doing the utmost to find ways to run them. Please know how eager we are to be able to share our big, beautiful world again.

Posted: 09 May, 2022 | Updated: 09 May, 2022

The government of Sri Lanka declared a state of emergency as of 24:00 hours of 6th May due to protests that are ocurring across the country. Local police have been trying to control the protests but this has resulted in some skirmishes between authorities and protesters. Travel between destinations have been stopped but the movement of Tourism has been permitted and is not being affected. No G Adventures groups or independent tours have been impacted.
Currently we are not running any trips in Sri Lanka for the remaining month of May and June. We will keep monitoring the situation and update with any developments.

Statement Regarding Russia Tours

Statement regarding Russia tours

We have made the decision to cancel all tours travelling in and through Russia until the end of December 2023. Formal notifications to agents and travellers are being sent out. We have made no additional changes to our other tour programmes in Europe. The health and safety of our travellers is of the utmost importance to us and we continue to monitor the situation closely as it unfolds.

In line with global sanctions, we will also no longer accept Russian nationals residing inside Russia on our trips, nor will we take bookings from Russian agencies. We recognize that these sanctions will impact everyday people who may not agree with Russia’s politics but they are unfortunately essential to apply pressure on the country to invoke change.

At G Adventures we believe travel and understanding different cultures could be the fastest path to peace, and we hope for a swift and diplomatic resolution for all those impacted.
